History of the Tumblers
The Tumblers Gymnastics Center has gone through several
metamorphosis from its inception in the early 1980's.
We began as a private business, the Mighty Mites, run
by Ms Denise Roy. Originally located on Canotek Rd in Gloucester, we
than became the Gloucester-Cumberland Gymnastics club, and offered the
community both recreational and competitive gymnastics. In 1992, the
club and all it's equipment was sold to the non-profit organization,
and our name changed again. We became the Gloucester-Cumberland Tumblers.
In the fall of that same year, we moved to our current facility, located
at 330 Vantage Drive, formerly of Cumberland, now Ottawa.
The Club underwent an expansion in 1997, when we officially
re-opened with our new 17,000 square foot facilities. Our most recent
name change has brought the Tumblers Gymnastics Centre.
The Tumblers are run by a group of dedicated volunteers
making up the Board of Directors, who work hand in hand with our tremendous
coaching staff to develop and nurture the youth in our gymnastics programs.
Today, we offer recreational gymnastics programs ranging
from "Mom, Pop and Tots", the "Tiny Tumblers", the Can Gym program,
trampoline programs and competitive programs at the Pre-Comp, Provincial
and Regional streams. We continue to develop programs to meet the needs
of our growing and diverse community. Over the years many of our athletes
have grown up with us, and returned in coaching roles.
Welcome to our Club.
